What does 2 Chronicles 12:5 mean?
ESV: Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, “Thus says the LORD, ‘You abandoned me, so I have abandoned you to the hand of Shishak.’”
NIV: Then the prophet Shemaiah came to Rehoboam and to the leaders of Judah who had assembled in Jerusalem for fear of Shishak, and he said to them, 'This is what the LORD says, 'You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you to Shishak.''
NASB: Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, 'This is what the Lord says: ‘You have abandoned Me, so I also have abandoned you to Shishak.’?'
CSB: Then the prophet Shemaiah went to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah who were gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them, "This is what the Lord says: You have abandoned me; therefore, I have abandoned you to Shishak."
