What does 2 Kings 8:10 mean?
ESV: And Elisha said to him, “Go, say to him, ‘You shall certainly recover,’ but the LORD has shown me that he shall certainly die.”
NIV: Elisha answered, 'Go and say to him, 'You will certainly recover.' Nevertheless, the LORD has revealed to me that he will in fact die.'
NASB: Then Elisha said to him, 'Go, say to him, ‘You will certainly recover’; but the Lord has shown me that he will certainly die.'
CSB: Elisha told him, "Go say to him, 'You are sure to recover.' But the Lord has shown me that he is sure to die."
NLT: And Elisha replied, 'Go and tell him, ‘You will surely recover.’ But actually the Lord has shown me that he will surely die!'
