What does Exodus 40:18 mean?
ESV: Moses erected the tabernacle. He laid its bases, and set up its frames, and put in its poles, and raised up its pillars.
NIV: When Moses set up the tabernacle, he put the bases in place, erected the frames, inserted the crossbars and set up the posts.
NASB: Moses erected the tabernacle and laid its bases, and set up its boards, and inserted its bars, and erected its pillars.

Book Summary:
The book of Exodus establishes God's covenant relationship with the full-fledged nation of Israel. The descendants of Abraham prosper after settling in Egypt, only to be enslaved by a fearful, hateful Egyptian Pharaoh. God appoints Moses to lead the people out of this bondage.
