What does Hosea 1:6 mean?
ESV: She conceived again and bore a daughter. And the LORD said to him, “Call her name No Mercy, for I will no more have mercy on the house of Israel, to forgive them at all.
NIV: Gomer conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. Then the LORD said to Hosea, 'Call her Lo-Ruhamah (which means 'not loved'), for I will no longer show love to Israel, that I should at all forgive them.
NASB: Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to him, 'Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer take pity on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them.
CSB: She conceived again and gave birth to a daughter, and the Lord said to him: Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have compassion on the house of Israel. I will certainly take them away.
NLT: Soon Gomer became pregnant again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to Hosea, 'Name your daughter Lo-ruhamah — ‘Not loved’ — for I will no longer show love to the people of Israel or forgive them.
KJV: And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away.
NKJV: And she conceived again and bore a daughter. Then God said to him: “Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, For I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, But I will utterly take them away.
