ESV: Behold, you are nothing, and your work is less than nothing; an abomination is he who chooses you.

NIV: But you are less than nothing and your works are utterly worthless; whoever chooses you is detestable.

NASB: Behold, you are less than nothing, And your work is less than nothing! He who chooses you is an abomination.

CSB: Look, you are nothing and your work is worthless. Anyone who chooses you is detestable.

NLT: But no! You are less than nothing and can do nothing at all. Those who choose you pollute themselves.

KJV: Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

NKJV: Indeed you are nothing, And your work is nothing; He who chooses you is an abomination.

Isaiah is among the most important prophetic books in the entire Bible. The first segment details God's impending judgment against ancient peoples for sin and idolatry (Isaiah 1—35). The second part of Isaiah briefly explains a failed assault on Jerusalem during the rule of Hezekiah (Isaiah 36—39). The final chapters predict Israel's rescue from Babylonian captivity (Isaiah 40—48), the promised Messiah (Isaiah 49—57), and the final glory of Jerusalem and God's people (Isaiah 58—66).
