What does Jeremiah 21:13 mean?
ESV: “Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, O rock of the plain, declares the LORD; you who say, ‘Who shall come down against us, or who shall enter our habitations?’
NIV: I am against you, Jerusalem, you who live above this valley on the rocky plateau, declares the LORD-- you who say, 'Who can come against us? Who can enter our refuge?'
NASB: 'Behold, I am against you, you inhabitant of the valley, You rocky plain,' declares the Lord, 'You who say, ‘Who will come down against us? Or who will enter our dwellings?’
CSB: Beware! I am against you, you who sit above the valley, you atop the rocky plateau -- this is the Lord's declaration -- you who say, "Who can come down against us? Who can enter our hiding places? "
NLT: I will personally fight against the people in Jerusalem, that mighty fortress — the people who boast, 'No one can touch us here. No one can break in here.'
