NIV: That's not true!' Jeremiah said. 'I am not deserting to the Babylonians.' But Irijah would not listen to him; instead, he arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.
NASB: But Jeremiah said, 'A lie! I am not deserting to the Chaldeans'; yet he would not listen to him. So Irijah arrested Jeremiah and brought him to the officials.
CSB: "That's a lie," Jeremiah replied. "I am not defecting to the Chaldeans! " Irijah would not listen to him but apprehended Jeremiah and took him to the officials.
NLT: That’s not true!' Jeremiah protested. 'I had no intention of doing any such thing.' But Irijah wouldn’t listen, and he took Jeremiah before the officials.
KJV: Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.
NKJV: Then Jeremiah said, “False! I am not defecting to the Chaldeans.” But he did not listen to him. So Irijah seized Jeremiah and brought him to the princes.
