What does Joshua 9:12 mean?
ESV: Here is our bread. It was still warm when we took it from our houses as our food for the journey on the day we set out to come to you, but now, behold, it is dry and crumbly.
NIV: This bread of ours was warm when we packed it at home on the day we left to come to you. But now see how dry and moldy it is.
NASB: This bread of ours was hot when we took it for our provisions from our houses on the day that we left to come to you; but now behold, it is dry and has become crumbled.
CSB: This bread of ours was warm when we took it from our houses as food on the day we left to come to you; but see, it is now dry and crumbly.
NLT: This bread was hot from the ovens when we left our homes. But now, as you can see, it is dry and moldy.
