ESV: Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!

NIV: Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.

NASB: Do not hide Your face from me on the day of my distress; Incline Your ear to me; On the day when I call answer me quickly.

CSB: Do not hide your face from me in my day of trouble. Listen closely to me; answer me quickly when I call.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
