ESV: My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word.

NIV: My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.

NASB: My soul languishes for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.

CSB: I long for your salvation; I put my hope in your word.

NLT: I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.

KJV: CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
