ESV: But my eyes are toward you, O GOD, my Lord; in you I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless!

NIV: But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge--do not give me over to death.

NASB: For my eyes are toward You, God, the Lord; In You I take refuge; do not leave me defenseless.

CSB: But my eyes look to you, Lord, my Lord. I seek refuge in you; do not let me die.

NLT: I look to you for help, O Sovereign Lord. You are my refuge; don’t let them kill me.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
