ESV: Let them be put to shame and confusion who seek my life! Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt!

NIV: May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace.

NASB: May those who seek my life Be put to shame and humiliated; May those who delight in my harm Be turned back and dishonored.

CSB: Let those who seek to kill me be disgraced and confounded; let those who wish me harm be turned back and humiliated.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
