ESV: A Maskil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth!

NIV: A maskil of Asaph. My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.

NASB: Listen, my people, to my instruction; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

CSB: My people, hear my instruction; listen to the words from my mouth.

NLT: O my people, listen to my instructions. Open your ears to what I am saying,

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
