Psalm 78:34 - Printer Friendly

ESV: When he killed them, they sought him; they repented and sought God earnestly.

NIV: Whenever God slew them, they would seek him; they eagerly turned to him again.

NASB: When He killed them, then they sought Him, And they returned and searched diligently for God;

CSB: When he killed some of them, the rest began to seek him; they repented and searched for God.

NLT: When God began killing them, they finally sought him. They repented and took God seriously.

KJV: When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God.

NKJV: When He slew them, then they sought Him; And they returned and sought earnestly for God.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
