ESV: Their heart was not steadfast toward him; they were not faithful to his covenant.

NIV: their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant.

NASB: For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful with His covenant.

CSB: their hearts were insincere toward him, and they were unfaithful to his covenant.

NLT: Their hearts were not loyal to him. They did not keep his covenant.

KJV: For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.

NKJV: For their heart was not steadfast with Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
