Psalm 78:7 - Printer Friendly

ESV: so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;

NIV: Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.

NASB: So that they would put their confidence in God And not forget the works of God, But comply with His commandments,

CSB: so that they might put their confidence in God and not forget God's works, but keep his commands.

NLT: So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
