ESV: Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O LORD, in the light of your face,

NIV: Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, LORD.

NASB: Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! Lord, they walk in the light of Your face.

CSB: Happy are the people who know the joyful shout; Lord, they walk in the light from your face.

NLT: Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord.

KJV: Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
