ESV: When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.

NIV: When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

NASB: When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul.

CSB: When I am filled with cares, your comfort brings me joy.

NLT: When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.

KJV: In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

NKJV: In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
