Psalm 97:10 - Printer Friendly

ESV: O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

NIV: Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

NASB: Hate evil, you who love the Lord, Who watches over the souls of His godly ones; He saves them from the hand of the wicked.

The book of Psalms is composed of individual songs, hymns, or poems, each of which is a ''Psalm'' in and of itself. These works contain a wide variety of themes. Some Psalms focus on praising and worshipping God. Others cry out in anguish over the pain of life. Still other Psalms look forward to the coming of the Messiah. While some Psalms are related, each has its own historical and biblical context.
